and I'm off!

So, here I am after nine months of preparation, finally ready to go to China. I've never been the one to wish for adventure, but it wasn't until I got to college I realized how much I loved it. I am leaving for China BY MYSELF! I am going to study BY MYSELF! I am doing this BY MYSELF! And oh my goodness, I am so excited.

I should be scared. I mean, at least more than I actually am. Maybe it's because I have finally reached the point in my life when I feel like I can do anything I set my mind to... I CAN do this. I CAN move across the world for four months and study an extremely difficult language.

What an adventure life is... I am so excited to be chasing this dream and living the life I love.

I wouldn't be where I am today without the people that have supported me. Specifically my parents and brother. They have never given up on me. My dad has told me how proud he was of me for as long as I could remember. Even when I failed, he still told me how my best was good enough. I guess it's stuck with me after all these years. My mom is literally my best friend. She knows a whole lot about my life, and has never doubted my abilities. As for my little brother-well, he's not so little anymore-he has allowed me to be a big sister but I learn as much from him as he does me. He is the most caring kid I know and I'm lucky to call him my brother.

The main reason I say all that is because they have helped shape me into the person I am today. What they have done for me can be seen in my actions. Thank you to my family for helping me get this far. I am going to make you proud.
